The Table of Blessing is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted stoneware bowl bearing one of the most beloved invitations found throughout Holy Scripture:

"Taste and see that the Lord is good."

Carved entirely by hand in Greek, the vessel unites the ancient language of the Church with a form intended for the table. Throughout Orthodox Christianity, hospitality has long been understood as more than the offering of food. It is an act of love, thanksgiving, and communion.

Bread, olives, fruit, grains, and simple meals have gathered families, pilgrims, and monastics around the table for centuries.

Whether filled with bread during a family meal, fruit in a quiet prayer corner, or placed simply as an object of contemplation, the vessel reminds the viewer that God's goodness is not merely spoken of, it is experienced.

Its softly rounded form, restrained proportions, and weathered alabaster surface recall ancient earthenware worn smooth through generations of faithful use.

"Taste and see that the Lord is good." (Psalm 33:8 LXX / Psalm 34)

These words from the Psalms occupy a cherished place within Orthodox worship and spirituality. Frequently heard throughout the liturgical life of the Church, they proclaim that the goodness of God is not merely understood intellectually but encountered personally through prayer, worship, and participation in the sacramental life of the Church.

Surface and Form

The vessel is finished inside and out in Alabaster, creating a soft ivory surface reminiscent of aged limestone and ancient plaster. A restrained iron wash has been carefully applied and wiped back in selected areas, settling naturally into subtle variations and lending the surface the quiet warmth of archaeological ceramics weathered through centuries.

Its broad, open form is equally suited for serving bread, fruit, grains, fasting meals, or simply standing alone as a sculptural work. The hand-carved inscription circles the exterior uninterrupted, allowing the words themselves to become the vessel's primary ornament.

Every curve, carving, and glaze variation remains entirely unique to this individual work.
