THE WORK
SACRED VESSEL No. 09 No. 09 is a one-of-a-kind Christian pottery coffee cup, individually formed in stoneware and hand-inscribed with Arabic lettering.
Its dark, earthen surface recalls ancient ceramic drinking vessels, weathered mineral deposits, and the material simplicity of early Christian life.
The carved Arabic inscription follows the curvature of the cup, becoming part of its architecture rather than an ornament applied to its surface.
Warm variations of brown, amber, and deep mineral color give the work an aged, archaeological character, while its substantial handle and functional proportions preserve its identity as a vessel for everyday use.

THE INSCRIPTION
The Arabic lettering is individually carved into the clay before firing, embedding the inscription within the physical structure of the cup.
Its carved lines remain visible beneath the layered mineral surface, allowing the lettering, glaze, and handmade form to read as a single composition.
